About the Event
The 10 Parishes Community Carnival is now in its tenth year and every year it gives a chance to celebrate in the simplest and most imaginative way – themed for you to interpret. Come as a stunning structure, decorate your wheelbarrow, cart, buggy or bike - whatever you do, it has to be people powered.

Safety marshals will lead the way.
Long Description

In other Festival years, Wiveliscombe has hosted hairy monsters, dragons, pirate ships, spaceships, arks and ghosts.

This year, we hope you can re-use, recycle, re-work anything that you can find, which other people might throw away. The aim is to highlight our overuse of plastic and make it work for us instead of adding it to landfill or our oceans. Create the biggest plastic creature that you can out of drink bottles. Float along on a sea of plastic bags, made into something special and even beautiful. Whatever you do decide to create, make it from something unexpected.

Entries can be as simple or complicated as you like. Some have seen whole families combining to create massive ensembles. Others have been super0inventive with a cart and some cardboard. It doesn’t much matter what you do as long as you IN! There are prizes galore for everyone

Music for the whole day… …and for everyone

“It doesn’t matter…….big bold and fantastic” Band TBC. (Aga, again, same as 2017 other than the band change.

The Route

The procession will assemble in Silver Street (enter via Golden Hill to avoid the Square), use the Silver Street Centre carpark and/or Wyndams. Marshals will be available to help organise and start off the procession, which will then move through The Square and West Street, before crossing West Road and into the Recreation Ground where prizes will be rewarded. The procession takes approximately 30-45 minutes from start to end.
