- Long Description
Painting has always been part of my life and the life that goes on around me is part of my painting. So that many Somerset and Devon scenes are shown in my pictures and often include local people and personalities. In the gallery there are memories of places we have visited such as Spain, Italy. Iceland and Finland, Los Angeles and Boston and Mexico.
For for the last 30 odd years I have spent much time painting oil miniatures. They have become increasingly popular over the years and sales have been good. They have the advantage of being very portable and can be posted anywhere from our marvellous Post Office in Wiveliscombe.
Joining the Hilliard Society of Wells in Somerset has led to my work being permanently available for many years at the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery in London and the Francesca Anderton Fine Art Gallery in Massachusetts. I have been a very long serving member not just of the Hilliard Society and a full member the Royal Miniature Society in London but also of the Miniature Societies of Washington, Florida, New Mexico and Cider Painters of America. I have been elected as a Miniature Artist of America. The Llewellyn Alexander Gallery and the Societies have been generous in the number of Prizes and Awards they have given me. The number stands at 103 at the moment.
The only problem with my painting is that it takes too long. There aren't enough hours in the day and days in the year for all the things I want to do!
