Long Description

Weaving had always been on my "bucket list" and I finally had the chance to learn a few years ago. Then someone persuaded me to try spinning fibre into yarn on their wheel - that was it, totally hooked! Another friend handed me a bag of natural plant dye extracts and said "see what you can do with those"... I could hardly refuse and, over the next year I began a craft/skill that takes up most of my waking hours! I am still amazed that I can take natural white fibre, a few leaves from my hedge or dead flowers, and create wonderful natural dyed yarns for knitting/crocheting etc. I rarely use plant extracts, preferring to make use of everything I find in my own garden. Now, the circle is complete, I spin white fibre, natural plant dye it and weave it. I have recently started a collaborative project with a lady who makes exquisite lampwork glass beads and buttons to create some mixed media shawl pins. I will be demonstrating spinning or weaving most days of the festival.
